The first Culture Hack North, Culture Hack North: Leeds 2011, will take place over the weekend of the 12-13 November 2011 at Old Broadcasting House in Leeds.

This FAQ is based on one that we borrowed (with permission) from Leeds Hack
Is food included?
Yes! All food and drink are provided for free with your ticket
Who gets the code?
You do… your the developer its yours, open source it, sell it, release it as a product – do whatever you want with it
Do I need a team?
No, we will have a session dedicated for people to find teams who need them, don’t worry just come along.
Where do I sleep?
Sleep? Seriously?….okay we have a policy of ‘BYOB’ – Bring Your Own (Bean/sleeping)bag or somewhere to kip. We will have space for sleeping bags etc if you want to bring them.
Can I come if I don’t want to hack?
Of course, however please can you ensure that you book a ‘Cultural organisation/person’ ticket. There will be a series of talks and workshops aimed at the ‘non-developers’.
Prizes
Full details of the prizes on offer are still being confirmed but here’s what we have thus far.
Manchester Museum – a behind the scenes tours of the museum an invite to the private view of Ancient Worlds and as some of the objects are to be scanned in 3d we’ll also include a 3d print of one of these.
Museums Sheffield – Tea for two at the Millennium Gallery café
National Media Museum – A personalised tour of the archives. We do regular tours but this will be a special personalized one, with the ability to get a special one-to-one look at a collection area of their choosing, and hopefully don the white gloves and have a hold/feel of some special objects.
National Railway Museum – A personalised tour of the archives. We do regular tours but this will be a special personalized one, with the ability to get a special one-to-one look at a collection area of their choosing, and hopefully don the white gloves and have a hold/feel of some special objects. AND a personal steam train driving session with our workshop crew.
Opera North – 2 tickets to the opera or an event at the Howard Assembly Room and a backstage tour.
Sheffield Theatres -2 tickets for our production of Pinter’s Betrayal (17 May – 9 Jun 2012) starring John Simm, with programme and a backstage tour of the Crucible theatre.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park – A selection of recent YSP publications worth £50
Plus there will some more general/broad categories for which the prizes will be Amazon vouchers.
